Runestead is a fully immersive Viking experience made up of four independent businesses: Beneath The World Tree (crafts & photography), Northern Realms (axe throwing & archery), Hel’s Kitchen (Viking-style catering), and Idunn’s Workshop (natural Norse crafts). Together, we create unforgettable events that celebrate Norse culture through food, games, crafts, and more.

Yes! We are a mobile setup and are happy to travel across the UK. Travel costs may be factored into your booking depending on distance, accommodation, or access requirements.
Absolutely — many of our services are family-friendly, with axe throwing and archery supervised by trained professionals. Some activities may have age restrictions for safety reasons, but we always aim to provide a fun and safe experience for all ages.
Hel’s Kitchen offers Viking-inspired meals such as flame-cooked meats, hearty stews, flatbreads, root vegetables, and rustic feasts based on historical recipes. Menus can be customised for dietary needs with notice.
Yes. Each business under the Runestead banner is independently owned and operates separately when not booked as part of a Runestead event. This means you can hire any of us individually, or together through Runestead.
If one or more businesses are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a partial refund equal to the standalone cost of the missing service. We’ll communicate any changes in advance and always aim to offer an alternative.
