Runestead is a collaborative experience provided by several small, independent businesses. Many of our events are booked months (or even years) in advance, and every booking involves significant preparation — coordinating staff, transporting equipment, ordering ingredients, and planning your unique setup.
Once you secure a date with us, we turn away other bookings and begin preparing your event immediately. Cancellations — especially late ones — leave us with unrecoverable costs and little time to fill your slot. This policy exists to protect our team, our partners, and the sustainability of the Runestead experience.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies only to Runestead-branded bookings (such as package experiences booked directly through Runestead). Individual product or food purchases made at an event are handled by the specific business from which the item or service was bought, and are subject to their own return and refund policies.
- For example, if you purchased food from Hel’s Kitchen, or goods from Idunn’s Workshop or Beneath The World Tree, please contact them directly.
2. Deposits
All deposits are strictly non-refundable, with no exceptions. Your deposit secures your date and covers initial administration, planning, and prep work.
3. Cancelations
- All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
- If you cancel, the refund of your remaining balance will follow our Refund Sliding Scale (see section 4) based on how much notice is given.
- If Runestead cancels the event in full, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit.
- If one or more businesses within Runestead are unable to attend (due to illness, emergency, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances), we will consider this a partial cancellation. In that case, you will receive a partial refund equal to the standalone value of the missing service(s) — for example, if Hel’s Kitchen is unable to attend, the refund will match the value of hiring Hel’s Kitchen individually. We will do our best to offer a replacement service or adjusted experience if possible and communicate all changes clearly and promptly.
4. Refunds
Refunds on any remaining balance (after the deposit) depend on the amount of notice you give us when cancelling and follow the sliding scale laid out below:

3. Returns for Physical Goods
If you purchased Runestead-branded merchandise (such as limited edition collaboration items sold through the Runestead name), you may return them under the following conditions:
- Items must be returned within 14 days of delivery.
- Items must be unused, unwashed, and in their original condition.
- Returns are accepted for faulty, incorrect, or damaged items only.
- You must provide proof of purchase (receipt or confirmation email).
4. How to Initiate a Return or Refund
To initiate a return or cancellation related to Runestead:
- Contact us via email at Enquiries@Runestead.com with the subject “Return/Refund Request.”
- Include your name, order or booking reference, item or service in question, and reason for return or cancellation.
- We will confirm whether your request qualifies for return or refund and provide instructions on how to proceed.
- If physical goods are being returned, you may need to post them to an address we provide. Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless the item was faulty or incorrect.
5. Refund Process
- Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method.
- You will receive a confirmation email when your refund is issued.
- If your refund is delayed, please check with your bank or payment provider before contacting us.
